how can you not take others personally and still get your goals? I mean, when you need of their cooperation, but they have a different point of view.

Actually, what is keeping you from you goals is taking things personally from what you think others are doing to you. When you take things personally your perception is telling you others are causing you a problem, the truth is all reactions are happening within you, and while you are busy with your reaction and story you are telling yourself about how someone else is causing it you miss all the opportunities that are in front of you to find the path to your goals. Taking things personally is a distraction and a huge misdirection of your personal energy that side tracks you from your path and your goals.

It's a little difficult to comprehend because we are social critures and wish to be in a team, especialy in family matters. Going forward, no matter what other party thinks sounds either a little bit lonely or selfish. But yes, if another person cooperates-good, if not, no one should stop at acheiving what they want...

I have a stumble now after being more aware of emotions and what causes it. For me it is more obvious now to see other people's insecurities. In a family environment, I can't be non-reactive. I do realize that someone else's insecurity is that person't issue to deal with, but when that person puts his insecurities on my shoulders my desire is to defend myself in order to come out as innocent. Do I make a list of the other person's red buttons (insecurities) and try to avoid it? How about the ones I don't know about? It's like walking on egg shells...

Anna, It is a truth about the way we perceive that we can see other people's insecurities and reactions much easier than our own. When dealing with a someone who you have a close relationship with not taking things personally becomes the ultimate challenge and opportunity to see how you are put together. The Key to getting beyond your reactions is seeing the totality of yourself becoming completely aware of what you do
Make a list of the other persons "red buttons" But also make a list of your own reactionary "red buttons" to their buttons. Just make the list and become aware of them when they are activated, primarily focusing on yourself. Just watch them and catalog them. It is not necessary or productive to analyze them or try to figure out anything about them, just become aware. What happens from this is that the button itself begins to dissolve
